Covid-19 Vaccination Programme in General Practice - Update
At Primrose Gate Medical Centre we offer comprehensive screening tests for STIs.
As with all consultations confidentiality is assured. Screening for asymptomatic patients who are concerned they may have a STI is carried out by our practice nurse on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. If a patient has a specific problem or symptom our doctors will devise the appropriate investigations and treatment.
The STI Screen involves;
– A detailed history
– A urine sample
– Blood samples
– An examination for genital warts and herpes as appropriate
The STI Screen tests for;
– Hepatitis B & C

The medical centre is open during normal opening hours. In keeping with Public Health Guidelines, new protocols have been put in place to protect the health and safety of our staff in order that they can continue to work and meet your medical needs during this time.

You will be given an appointment for a telephone or video consultation and an approximate time that this will take place. Your symptoms will be assessed by the doctor and a treatment plan put in place. You may be requested to attend the medical centre for a physical examination if deemed necessary by the doctor.
If you are required to attend the medical centre, you will be asked to wait in the car park until called by the doctor or nurse. Please wear a face mask and practical clothing such that the examination will be easier and faster. The examination will be kept as brief as possible to minimise infection risk. You will return to your car and the doctor may phone you to explain the management plan and arrange a prescription if required.
Requests for prescription renewals can be made online through our website or by posting the request form to the surgery.
